King of the Green Grudge Match
The Club Lake Cathie greens were alive with excitement as Mark ‘The Destroyer’ Davies and John ‘The Milkman’ Fuller faced off in a highly anticipated King of the Green grudge match. With a big crowd on hand and touchers at every end, the match delivered everything spectators had hoped for.
A Thrilling Back-and-Forth Battle
The Destroyer came out firing, building an early lead of 11-5 before Fuller found his rhythm and clawed it back to 12-8. The match ebbed and flowed with both players producing superb bowls throughout.
At 19-12, Davies looked to be cruising toward victory. Then The Milkman produced a stunning Smoothie 4 to drag the score back to 20-18, setting up a dramatic finish. Fuller’s ‘great fist of hope’ had already made an appearance earlier in the match, knocking a short one up to deny Davies a full count and keep the contest alive.
With the crowd on the edge of their seats, Fuller mounted a furious final push to steal victory from the jaws of defeat, finishing 25-22 in a result that had everyone talking.
Congratulations to John Fuller on a fantastic win over Mark Davies. It was a brilliant game to watch, played in great spirit in front of a wonderful crowd. Well done to both players for putting on such an entertaining match.
